A friend sent me a note with a fabulous idea for someone to execute online. It was brilliant but at the same time risky. It might not work.
She wanted somebody else to take responsibility for this while she would wait and see what happens. Wait and miss out on enormous possibilities this idea might offer in the future for her. What an unproductive approach to life... I wrote to her encouraging words of why she should be the one who would take action and implement this idea. But of course, our lizard brains are strong, for some people - too strong. It's that bold, persistent and generous action that freaks it out the most. But it's precisely what we should be doing regardless of or maybe BECAUSE we are afraid of this idea. This is our purpose. If the idea haunts you at night, if you wake up at 3 AM and think about it, it will never go away. Maybe it will, but so will your organist dreams, if you don't act now. I hope you can do better than that. PS How to know if the idea is not too big for you? Write down your idea and think of the first step. What would be the first step in executing this idea? If you can write the first step, it's not too big you you.
