How do you learn to stop being insecure and accept myself?

Welcome to my world. You should hear me speak in a group of people or even to my wife.

Most of the time I can’t complete a simple sentence without getting stuck in the middle of it.

It’s embarrassing at best and really limits my career possibilities at worst. I have a doctoral degree so by now I should have learned how to speak fluently but…

Oh, and by the way, it doesn’t matter, if it’s English or my native language, Lithuanian. Actually, in Lithuanian I speak even worse.

I think what’s happening is that my focus isn’t good enough. In other words, I constantly think about many different things at once.

Food, playing, movies, money, boss, future and back to food.

I don’t know if this will help you but when I sit down and close my eyes and breath for about 20 minutes a couple of times a day, then I feel refreshed, calmer and my ability to think clearly improves.

With this my mind can focus on just one thing at a time… for about 3 minutes.

Then it’s a chaos again.

They say reading books helps a lot for communicating your ideas too.

If you read just one book, not too many things will change but if you’ll read 100 books, you’ll become a different person.

I guess it’s a daily practice which will last many years.

But that’s a start.
